Contact and Official Record Routes

Custer County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or pull an official booking file. Contact the public office that holds the record for those tasks.

Custer County Sheriff and Jail Records

The Custer County Sheriff's Office is the verified county-jail custody and booking-record contact. The official county site does not list a separate records-unit line, public booking form, local roster, photo policy, or booking-specific fee table. Call before making a request to confirm the preferred delivery method and to identify the person, date range, and requested record.

Where Each Record Belongs

Custody and case information can move between systems. Use the source that matches the question, rather than assuming a county-jail event will appear in every locator.

  • Current or past county-jail booking: contact the Custer County Sheriff's Office. No official online county roster or same-day feed was verified.
  • Court case, hearing, amendment, or disposition: use the Nebraska Judicial Branch JUSTICE case-information service, then contact the appropriate Custer County or district court clerk if needed.
  • Sentenced state-prison custody: use the NDCS Inmate Search. NDCS is a state-custody locator, not a Custer County booking roster or photo gallery.
  • NDCS public record: use NDCS's Public Records Request process for a specific state-custody record.
  • Federal custody: use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator for its stated federal scope, not for local jail bookings.
  • Immigration detention: use the ICE Online Detainee Locator System for its stated federal immigration scope. It is not a county-jail directory.

If a county record is not in the sheriff's custody, Nebraska law provides a routing rule for the custodian to identify a known state agency when requested. A court search can show a case event, but it does not by itself certify present custody or an active warrant.
